Nice wine. A dusty nose but overall softening with surprisingly nice fruit. The wine evolved over the couple of hours it was open and in the glasses. I'd suggest the wine could handle a few more years. It will be fun to open a bottle in a year.

Upon opening this wine had a very unpleasant medicine/cleaning fluid smell that got better with time, but never left completely. The light body and vigor allowed the wine to complement food nicely, but any attempts to go deeply into this wine were met with interesting, but mostly unpleasant notes. Hoping time helps these 04's.

Light red with a tad of bricking. More oak than the Clos Sorbes; chocolatey ripe with more elegant earth as well as a not so elegant but not unwelcome trace of merde. Lowish in acid, at least on the quite soft attack good depth with a hint of green that is easily tolerable. A fairly big, ripe and lush 2004 red Burg that is hard to resist now.

Very good wine still at the top despite 17 years, Frederic Magnien is big wine maker.

Delicious and elegant--beginning to lose some of the spicey fruit, soft and elegant like a whisper.
