Cork popped a couple of hours before consumption. Lovely nose of ripe cherries wafts out of the bottle. Ripe red fruit all over the palate, grounded by savoury spice and earth notes (with just a touch of tobacco). High and low notes both singing on this wine. Amazing complexity for $15.

Szabo was bang on, this was an excellent wine and at only $15 one of the best QPR's I've had ever, delicious - Dark, full bodied with a nose of plum, blackfruit, graphite, tobacco, spice and vanilla, excellent structure and balance, very complex, dusty, sweet on the palate with excellent length, fabulous! (91 Points).

Drank with friends. --Deep purple dark fruits , cherry, leather, A bit sour oout of the bottle but after 1 hour openeed up nicely--mellowed out and was quite drinkable. Not up to par of the outstanding Mencias but all 6 of us liked it .

Deep, dark flavors reign with this wine. Dark cherry and liquor along with something spicy like licorice. The nose was earthy and bold with those same cherry hints and some leather. The tannins were mellow and the acidity was good but not quite enough to bring this up another point or two. This was very drinkable on its own and went well with food.

Not nearly as good as I remember it being the first time I had it, which was about 16 months ago. Still had the minerally finish, but the fruit wasn't nearly as prevelant.
