I’m a little less confident about the evaluation and future of this wine than the last time I had it about 3.5 years ago. Still quite nice on the nose with pomegranate, cherries, mushrooms, blood orange, and forest notes. The palate feels quite tart and a bit underripe, though. It picked up a bit of weight with air, but the flavors are mostly tart berries and cherries and feel less interesting than the nose. Still has plenty of structure. Good finish. Still a very enjoyable wine with food, but I doubt this will get any better and may only get less balanced with age…

Moderate color with an enticing deep red fruit and earthy mushroom overlaid by floral (almost honeysuckle) overtones to create an almost bipolar/schizoid yet appealing nose. Deep, dark beautiful red fruit base. Good acidity combines with a slowly swirling and shifting palette of subtle nuances (cardamom, cinnamon, earth, mushroom, and more) to create a delightful ride.

At this point this is one of the least appealing Arnot Roberts wines I have had. Quite closed. Modest nose. Minimal fruit over a complex body with an odd bitter quality. Almost as s though it is corked but it is not. Odd! Hopefully it will come around or this is an "odd" bottle.

We liked this. Very complex, with earthy mineral notes, Provençal spice, sour cherry, cranberry.
