26% Roussanne, 25% Chardonnay, 19% Grenache Blanc,17% Chenin Blanc, Viognier 13%. The first time I've had DeMorgenzon's Maestro - a classic South African white blend with less Chenin than some - which actually I rather prefer. I'm not as enthusiastic as other reviewers about this 2014. There's a bitter note I find a little offputting otherwise the score would be higher. Perhaps it's the Baroque music played in the vineyards (see back label!).

Lovely pale gold colour with aromas of pear, apricot, charred wood, oak smoke, spice, lemon and lime. The palate has richness with ripe peach and apricot, intense mid palate with lemon and lime fruit coming through and then pronounced chilli spice on the long finish. Stunning and great value at £17 from The Wine Society.

Very much enjoyed the first glass without food. Beautiful nose of apple and that flinty/rocky smell. The palate is complex, I really taste the Viognier, which I love. Very nice rounded mouth feel. Well balanced. After being open for 2 days I felt the Chard became dominant and, while still good, I did not enjoy it as much.
