  Heat damaged in shipment. The red car folks have a particular shipper they prefer. I have not been impressed with that service.

  Changes a lot with an hour of air. Nose starts complex with abundant lavender. Otherwise initially wound up and hard to peer in to. Air inverts it, with the nose fading and nice complexity arriving on the palette, most pronounced by currant, white pepper, and mint.

  Next day note: very tasty, with all the pieces working nicely together. The fruit, acid, and floral elements were all seamlessly integrated, and the finish was quite long. Sonoma Coast at its best combines the fruit-forwardness of inland Sonoma with an elegance those wines often lack, and this was certainly of a piece with that. This tastes like the high-end wine it is.
