No other wine like this in the extensive Tablas Creek lineup, a nose utterly without fumes or harshness, subtle, mild, gentle, but beguiling, and with a silky, almost cream like texture in the mouth. I am reminded of Semillon. One can understand its utility as a blending grape to tame the excesses of varietals like Viognier or Grenache Blanc and to add elegance. Rarely released as a varietal, the 2017 is similarly superlative. Have not tried the 2018 yet. At the age of six, still youthfully fresh. Nice at 45 F, cold but not too cold.

Marsanne is rarely bottled as a single varietal. This release is an exception to that practice and an exceptional wine. The wine has gained color in the last 8 months. Honey, sea salt caramel, and lightly roasted hazelnuts are embedded in a supple texture with a mineral finish.

Like mentioned, stone fruit and dry. Beautiful. Nothing out of place. So smooth but flavorful.

A good medium bodied Rhone white. Stone fruit on the palate and quite dry.
