This is a 60/40 blend of Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc from Santa Maria Valley. The nose is clean, with delicate aromas of yellow apple, white peach, lemon and apple blossom. The palate is dry, consistent with the nose, with medium to medium (+) acidity and alcohol (13.5%). The crispness and minerality of the Pinot Blanc is more noticeable when served a little on the cold side. As it warms up, it becomes a little rounder and a little oilier. It is drinking well now and likely to keep its freshness for another year or so. It appealed to a wide range of consumers over the 4th of July and is worth seeking out.

Very nice combination of the two grapes. The freshness and acidity of the Pinot Gris is quite apparent on the front palate showing quince, lemon, and something a bit waffley. The finish shows that impish Pinot Blanc finish that is a bit flat and redolent of spun sugar. Nonetheless, there is a mineral zing to this and the Pinot Gris definitely does most of the heavy lifting.

Ooooo. Minerals on the nose, but vanilla and flowers on the palate. Hint of oak. Lots of yum.
