An elegant surprise. Light aromas of raspberry and mint on the nose, with direct flavors of raspberry and earth on the palate. Medium acidity, with a satiny mouthfeel that melts away on the finish.

Opened one hour in advance. Composite cork. Spring like floral aroma. Pure cherry fruit flavor with herbs. Intense, lingering sour cherry finish. Starts out clean and simple, then gains weight, complexity, and intensity. Don't know if this will age well, or is even meant to, but it's great right now.

You know what, for $16, this ain't bad. I feel a bit like I'm standing in a vineyard surrounded by barns and evergreens when slurping on this approachable, screw top deck pounder. It's not a porch pounder as you do get satisfying elements of what I attribute to Oregon Pinot, an almost green pine-needle grassiness and if I may say, slightly Burgundian feel to the weight. I'd drink more.

Small-production, sustainably farmed Pinot is tough to find at this kind of price. But a growing wave of small producers in Oregon are aiming to do just that, and as an added bonus, are making Pinot that is lighter, more complex, and less jammy than many past Willamette Valley bottlings. Here's a great place to get started on the new Oregon.

No notes but quite light, even thin. Not a huge impression up against our Thanksgiving meal.
