Burgundy Tasting (Restaurant Brunnenstube, Beinstein): Tasted blind. Clear, pale golden color. Quite muted and rather boring, non saying nose. On the palate very fine, elegant, precise and dense with an almost oily texture. Very fresh, some hints of lime and very mineral. Solid finish. 91-92

Very good village. Even for a hot year no sensation of heaviness and the wine is very crisp. Around the table people thought it would be a 2014 or 2016.

My bottle seemed to me like it was some way off any peak drinking window, as the oak and reduction both took up a lot of room. That doesn’t mean that it wasn’t good to drink now, it was actually a very nice wine that exceeds the expectations you wouls have for a Chablis AOC - the intensity and texture especially. Like lemon oil, the texture. A bit tropical with notes of mandarin. Grey pear. Minerality is steely and chalky, and there’s a feeling of raw crustacean. Lasts long! Maybe a little fuzzy around the one edges, compared to a 1er Cru and owing to the vintage. But so much wine for a Chablis village, and I would love to have more but I don’t.

Light straw, green tint. Chalky, mineral notes, grapefruit, icy butter. Slatey and mineral, oyster shells and lemon curd- tight but has that Ravenau richness. A Burgundy drinker's Chablis! For an AC ridiculously good, wish this was in more plentiful supply. Very impressive, just coasting.

Typé Raveneau, un peu laiteux, agrumes. Belle texture de bouche, plus en rondeur et en équilibre, superbe Villages. 91-92
Very typical Raveneau style, the texture is great, good balance and great level for a Villages.
