  • This wine seems almost completely oxidized. It was stored properly and the cork showed no leakage, so I am at a loss to understand why. The color was the first hint of trouble: dark gold with an almost orange cast to it, with little viscosity. There are some hints of petrol and green apple, but they faint. Flavor is off, with some saline qualities but little fruit. I popped and poured this, so perhaps it needs time to blow off whatever is ailing the wine. Not rated at the moment; back to the cellar it goes to see if air helps.

  • This spatlese is medium amber in color. On the nose, it displays medium aromas of apricot, pineapple and lychee. Off dry and high acid, this wine imparts layers of apricot, pineapple and honey, ending with hint of petrol. This wine improved a lot over the last few years. It may get better but alas, it was our last bottle.

  • The wine is deep gold in color with medium intensity aromas of tropical fruit, stone fruit, and petrol. The wine is more dry than off-dry but it does have a hint of sweetness. It has medium acidity, low alcohol, and a full bodied mouth feel. The flavors are medium intensity with notes of lemon and stone fruit. The wine is very balanced and a great value. This is a good wine.
