At Richard's laneway xmas party - unanimous on the wine of the nite, leaving the Leeuwin Estate Chardy and the 02 707 in its wake. Super smooth shiraz flavour with no undue sweetness, dry and crisp without being harsh. Superbly made

Very dark. Bittersweet chocolate and espresso. Liquorous. Full bodied. Probably at peak now. Gently bubbling. Good match with turkey with apple relish and pork belly with a balsamico sauce.

Now that's what I call a good sparkling shiraz. The plummy, floral nose has plenty of leather and chocolate, and the hints of brett and bandage-like phenolics aren't intrusive. It's eminently drinkable, but not without interest. Fruity plums and dark berries on the entry lead to leather, cedar and spice, finishing with soft, powdery tannins. Nice.
