La Tablee: Graillot Dinner (Al Coro): A slightly different style because this was made by the father. It's an interesting style of wine. Less of the precision and focus. Still some smokey and dark fruits and all of that but less pulled in that linear style. Still enjoyable.

99/01 Guiraude & Base Crozes pairs. This was decidedly the most barnyard funky of the four bottles. Cleans up with air and has terrific meaty, concentrated fruit but not as delineated and therefore enjoyable as the other three bottles.

"The mind is willing, but the flesh is weak" (Chicago, IL): I really had trouble with this wine -- the nose was too bretty in a barnyard kind of way it was hard to get it to the palate. It certainly tastes better than it smells, but this bottle was triaged away in a night with so much wine.

I tried this soon after release but found the acidity off putting. All these years later there's still a bracing line to it. Not my styls as there isn't much complexity to be found behind the acid.

Still drinking pretty well, but starting to fade, redder fruits and some meatiness, but also a bit out of balance w the acidity on the finish.
