  Italian Wine Scholar at the Texas Wine School. It is interesting to see what a difference a year makes. Medium (+) to deep ruby with garnet hues. The nose is clean, with aromas of raspberries, blackberries, stewed boysenberries and earth, with very subtle oak spice. The nose is developing. The palate is dry, with medium to medium (+) acidity and tannins and medium alcohol (13%). The palate is consistent with the nose, with medium flavor intensity, body and length. This nicely balanced wine is drinking very well at five years of age and has at least a couple of years left in its optimal drinking window, which is remarkable given its low price point. Good by itself but even better with food.

  Italian Wine Scholar at the Texas Wine School. Medium (+) to deep purple with ruby hues. The nose is clean, with aromas of raspberries, blackberries and boysenberries, with very subtle oak spice. The nose is youthful. The palate is dry, with medium to medium (+) acidity and tannins and medium alcohol (13%). The palate is consistent with the nose, with medium flavor intensity, body and length. There is a noticeable wet stone character note the nose and on the palate. This nicely balanced wine appears to still be youthful and age-worthy, which is remarkable given the relatively low price point.
