Dark color. Needed about 45 minutes of air before it opened up sufficiently. Charcoal and bing cherry notes. Quite compact and sturdy. Not an elegant pinot, more of a bowling ball. Can probably be cellared for another 1-2 years with possible improvement.

Hard to believe that here, in 2006, this wine is 4 years old. Tastes like a youngster - still a bit rough, tannic around the edges, saturated cherry and earthy tastes - typical of SLH wines (I think) and why I'm not crazy about them. The tannins have become a bit drying on the finish, but the nose is as flowery and rosy as it's probably ever been, and the length is fairly good - the brambly, cherry flavors linger for quite a while.

Didn't take notes and my memory is fading, but this was a nice wine with sour cherry notes
and some spicyness.

Surprise....my first balanced Roar in a long time. Sweet strawberry in a slightly earthy, light bodied Pinot.
