  • I really like this wine. On the nose it’s a riot of mandarine, orange blossom, regal lily, nectarine, and bamboo. It’s drinking so beautifully - lovely acidity, loads of flavour concentration and complexity.

  • Vibrant gold. Honey, pineapple, baked apple, acacia, and vanilla. Almost Gewurz-like intensity on the nose. Incredibly good value. Very, very drinkable.

  • WSET, Level 3 Advanced Certifcation Training; 3/11/2018-4/22/2018 (Texas Wine School at the Food & Wine Foundation of Texas, Austin, TX): Tasting sample. Clear medium lemon color. Displays medium plus nose of floral flower blossom, peach, apricot, and ginger. Lots going on with broad, complex, but still developing aromatic profile. Dry white wine. Medium plus flavors of apricot, peach, ginger and a mouthful of flowers. Medium alcohol and medium plus body. Medium plus acidity supports a medium plus finish. This is a very good wine showing nice balance, great length, lots of developing complexity and solid intensity. Can drink now but may improve with further aging.

  • Wine Dojo - Week 2 - Aromatic Whites and Thin Skinned Reds (Rick's Place): Tasted Blind

    A: Pale lemon green
    N: Pronounced Intensity and youthful.
Rosewater, orange, nutmeg, clove elderflower, lychee and bags of VANILLA
P: DRY, medium (-) acid, medium (+) alcohol (13.5% abv.), full body, pronounced intensity and medium finish
Initial C: Warm climate owing to acidity and alcohol, new world as its a barrel fermented aromatic grape - masses of new oak on aromatic grape is not something you are likely to find in the Old World. Varietal is Torrentes, Muscat or Gewürztraminer. Probably not muscat as DRY VERSIONS OF MUSCAT like those found in the South of France are NOT SO PERFUMED.

  • Tasted Blind (Coravin access)

    A: Pale lemon green
N: Peach, pear, butter, vanilla, coconut, geranium, frangipane and roses and JTH quite rightly pointed out FENNEL
    Pronounced Intensity. Youthful
P: Dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%) full body, pronounced intensity and long finish
C: Drink now. Very Good Quality Wine.
I LOVE this wine. Thought it was an unusual Gewürztraminer at first. Somehow, the winemakers cheekily have very apparent new french oak in this and yet there is sufficient fruit and acidity (thanks to the elevated Cafayate region in Salta) to compete with it. This is AUDACIOUS winemaking and at $22 a bottle, i will buy this conversation starter again in a heartbeat. Houston Wine Merchants has at last given me a win!!!
Popped the bottle open after Coravin access because it was too good not to down with my aromatic Thai supper.

3 days later. (not under argon) ...
All citrus, oak and fennel. The florals have largely disappeared. Very different to first opening. You don't want to open and leave sitting about unless its under argon.
