Some would say heavy sloppy and unfocused. I would take a more charitable tact and say big, soft, with earth and dirt and smoke and ripe fruit, without anything in particular standing out. That's not to suggest that this wine is balanced; with balanced you can taste the yin and yang. Sadly with this bottle you taste a pleasant mush.
Paired well with Tacos.

This wine is drinkable after aerating for an hour. But, it is a bit unbalanced. It presents a hodgepodge of flavors, including cinnamon, cherries, and blueberries. Finishes with dry herbs and chalk. It didn’t do much to enhance my dinner of beef stew.

Got this to gift a friend as they enjoy the Phinney style (and my tastes have changed over the years to not lean toward this rocket fuel style). I grabbed this mag for $20 (normally $60) and figured they would appreciate it.
Overripe raspberries, blackberries, chocolate dipped cherries and licorice. Smells hot and tastes the same...cherry cordial, milk chocolate, sandalwood, fresh squeezed blackberry wine.
Not my cup of tea anymore, but it’s always a crowd pleaser for the casual wine drinker, and it was enjoyed by our friends. Goal achieved.
