Wow, this is a fantastic Syrah, very much in the ilk of a Northern Rhône taste profile. It was quite gently extracted and is really quite beguiling. I would buy more of this, even though it is $40-ish. A very fine wine.

A wonderful feast of stemmy whole-cluster perfumes, in a cool-grown context. Here are the green pepper, violets and thyme, salty liquorice and tar pastilles, black olives and raw meat - well, almost any marker you'd wish for in a young syrah. Very open for business, juicy and fresh, with modest alcohol and a low level of sulphur. Just brilliant!

Like drinking a new worldy St. Joseph. Lots of mineral, wet rocks, a bit of garriguey spice. Very nice weight for Australia. Deliciously juicy and complex.

Open nose of bushy berries and charcoal, and a fresh, clean, lower-tannin higher-acid version of same on the palate, less charcoal and much more bushy berry. Lively and refreshing, and much better at being both on first day than second. Would drink rather than hold.

This is a lovely Syrah, already showing some complexity. An excellent bottle of wine.
