  • Soft tannins, still nice black fruit

  • Popped and poured and followed over 3 hours. This took overan hour to open up but once it got some air it fleshed out and showed some blueberry and plum on the nose with notes of radish. Quite smooth mouthfeel with dark fruit and hints of chocolate and spice. A touch hollow on the mid palate. The finish was short to medium in length with fully integrated tannins. This was a very nice, but not oustanding merlot which gave the impression that it may have been better a couple of years ago. Still enjoyable to drink now and worth picking up at a discounted price.

  • Intense blackberry, herbs and sweet cassis on the nose. Wonderfully balanced with a medium body and full mouthfeel. Ripe plum and cherry complement subdued peppery spices, both forward and mid palate. Soft and well integrated tannins suggest this wine is in its peak stage, but wouldn't surprise me if there are several years remaining. The medium length finish is plain yet elegant, although there is a touch of heat. If this wine had shown any changes or additional characteristics over the course of dinner, I would have rated it slightly higher. Paired with curried roast lamb, baby green beans and mashed potatoes.
