Served in my wine course (gift from A&D). Intense iodine nose. Fairly rich in the mouth. More elegant finish than I was anticipating based on the mouth, with wood influence nicely integrated. Nice.

Beautifully thick, structured and deep Nenin. A blend of 74% Merlot and 26% CF. Aged for 12 months in 30% new barrels. Deep ruby colour. Medium+ intensity aroma of dried cherries, cassis, leather, baking spice, tobacco, plums. Full body, well structured and concentrated with expressive flavours of earthy cassis, cherries, plums, chocolate, spices, ripe and rich grainy tannins, long savoury spiced black fruit finish.

Quite a powerful brew, even if the acidity balances the 14°. Blackberries and hay on the nose, with a touch of leather and spices. A full-bodied, muscular mouthful of concentrated blackberries, but very smooth and seamless, the tannins well-integrated. For me this lacked a little freshness and the plum I was expecting only featured slightly on the finish, but fans of a more powerful Pomerol will like this a lot. More or less ready now, but a few more years may round of the edges a little more - certainly no hurry about drinking up.

(Château Nenin) Dark red violet color; tight plum and black fruit nose; solid cherry, cassis and coffee palate with an herbal quality and depth; medium-plus finish

Drinking well, but still a baby. Dried cassis, cedar, espresso bean.

Youngish wine, great balance, still slightly acidic and tannic. Light weight with decent power, maybe not the longest finish.
