  • Very intense, opaque youthful purple color. Very youthful, but fortunately not super-expressive nose with dark-toned aromas of ripe cherries, sweet blackberries and blackcurrants, even hints of plums. The wine feels a bit more dry with slightly more concentrated and chewy texture than Beaujolais Nouveau 2015 by Duboeuf, tasted at the same time. On the palate the wine feels medium-bodied and somewhat inky with rather high acidity; the flavors are really youthful and juicy with notes of cherries, ripe dark berries, some plums and a sweet hint of blackberry juice. There aren't really tannins to speak of. The youthful finish is juicy and medium in length with somewhat sweet flavors of raspberries, some strawberry marmalade, a bit of ripe plums and a hint of blackberry jam with a touch of estery banana bubblegum.

A perfectly decent and drinkable Bojo Nouveau. Nothing more, really. This isn't an estery banana-and-bubble gum bomb but instead youthful, sweet and crunchy little wine, which is always a welcome thing in Nouveaus. You really can sense the warm vintage, seeing that this isn't just raspberries and cranberries all the way through, but instead more dark-toned and somewhat sweeter than a regular Bojo Nouveau with even some jammy and plummy aromas. Fortunately the wine carries these elements rather well, thanks to its relatively high acidity. In a nutshell, this is a decent Bojo Nouveau, a bit more serious than what you normally get when you buy a Nouveau, but this isn't really anything I'd normally grab when looking for a Gamay. At 10€, this was a bit expensive for a Nouveau, but still priced pretty much according to its quality.
