From a 375. Youthful appearance with no significant bricking. Nose of dark red fruits, some tertiary elements of xmas spices, walnuts and tobacco. Full bodied, with plenty of ripe cherries and plums and acid in balance. Could hold here for quite a while, I think, with no danger of decline. Stiil, lots of pleasure now.

I liked this as much as the '99, although they were quite different. Complex nose that included notes of iodine and fireplace. This showed a palate of black fruit, but smoothly worn on the sides with age, nicely resolved, rugged yet smooth and mellow at the same time, with lovely Sangio herbs. The fruit is still very dark, but the texture is more worn and mellow. Amali.

I found this gem in a forgotten corner of bottles. Smooth silky Chianti with everything in balance, all tempered by ample bottle age. The tannins are silky and this is still in a nice drinking window, possibly a slow decline from here.
Pleasing elements of cherry and tobacco leaf, with enough weight to carry this through some robust red sauces during tonight's dinner. This was a fantastic value, purchased years ago for less than $20.

From 375ml, certainly declining - leads me to suspect any 750ml should be opened soon as well.
