  • Some Top Shelf Burgs (My home): Second time I have had this wine with similar results. While perhaps not a "classic" Chablis profile, it is excellent. Light golden in color. The nose has gun flint/smoke, lots of minerals, lemons and vanilla. On the palate, this has crisp bright acidity. Lemons with just a touch of apples, more red than green. Plenty of minerals. Some oak/vanilla. Long finish. There is a great vibrancy about this wine that takes it up a notch. It really wakes up the palate and provides substance.

  • Dinner with Friends (French wines). Yquem, Cos, B2K 2nds and a few more. (University Circle): This wine exceeded my expectations. It did need some time to open up and while great right away, even better with a couple of hours of air. Light golden in color. The nose is chalky but seems more red apple than green initially. The green comes out with air. On the palate, great texture. Good bite. Nice green apple, chalk and minerals. It tastes like Grand Cru Chablis. I no longer try to age white Burgs, but this seems like it would make old bones. Beautiful wine. A Fass Selection.

  • Chilled about 1 hour prior to serving. Opened and poured, left to sit in glasses for about 15 minutes. Tasted several times as it warmed up.

On the nose it first presents wet rock and chalky mineral tones, with zesty citrus and grassy notes beyond that. With time and air, lovely tropical and orchard fruit comes out. Green apple and hints of pineapple even. This grew better better with air.

Zesty acidity on the palate helps contrast bright apple, pear, and hints of grapefruit. More rocky minerality comes through as well. Incredibly balanced and at once fresh yet deep and alive.

The finish is gorgeous, persistent without being weighty or thick. All at the table were stunned by how brilliantly this showed.
