This has evolved from the last bottle I had, a much more complex nose with notes of cantaloupe, honeydew melon, vanilla and lemon. Medium bodied on the palate, deep flavors carrying across in a very integrated profile. So enjoyable, this is in a perfect window for my palate.

Have always liked the Varners and don't take pleasure in criticizing their effort, but none of us (four people) liked this particular bottle. Judging by other notes I'm the outlier here so maybe simply an off bottle or in a dumb phase? To make the note productive, not just critical, be advised that this is a big oaky California Chard. If you're a fan of that style, it's for you. And perhaps waiting another 3-5 years might bring this into a little more balance. If drinking now, have it on the cool side and decant for a lonnngggg time (5 hours?).

Peach, vanilla and honey on the nose. In the mouth, nicely packaged. A touch of spice on the finish. Very Nice wine, needs a couple years to round out and it should improve some.

Great wine! Notes of salty ocean, vanilla and lemon. Tartness in the mouth, good balance of acidity and fruit in the mouth. Will get better with time but already drinking nicely

A bit rich for my taste, but balanced and well made. Pineapple, smoke, vanilla, lemon zest, and such.
