  • A great experience drinking a wine that, once again, Harvey Steiman underestimated in WS. This wine was a wonderful pinot gris that was unlike any I have had before, presumably because of the age on it. There were lots of stone fruit components to it, it was almost viscous pouring from the bottle. Just as I started to smell it, my immediate reaction was that it had that madeirized smell of a wine that is long gone but as I actually got a full nose of it, it didn't seem to actually have quite that aroma but just a very mellow aged component to the wine. And the taste confirmed it. I still have another bottle that we may have with Thanksgiving or Christmas to share with some friends and family. With any luck the other bottle will have held up as well as this one!
