ROB LLL at Da Do. Not as remarkable as the 87 Batard, this bottle actually feels broader and fatter but without great focus. 83 Pucelles on the side crushed with acidity. Grand cru in weight at its old age. 93

Unexpectedly outstanding - dark yellow - no hint of oxidation - subtle notes of brioche - so easy to drink Didn't last very long - one hour later, completely gone - but OH while it lasted, a unique experience!

SS's 40th at Les Amis. Dark yellow gold, very mature, but shy of any orange tones. Extremely cheesy and funky nose, which did blow off with time. Earth, mushrooms, leather, truffle - all very mature and aged characteristics, a complete contrast to the 75 DP Oeno drank alongside. There was a touch of elegance and expressiveness on the palate, with some hazelnut, almond, old wood, leather and truffle but the lack of acidity (naturally so), rendered the wine slightly flabby and disjointed. Fruit had pretty much disappeared but appreciate it for a different profile of a good Burgundy GC. And from a vintage like 1987, this was a pretty good effort. My thoughts would be that this would have drunk at peak 10 years ago.

4th wine of the flight. Bold. Creamy, powerful, lack a bit of tension as the ripe fruits profile is dominating. I thought this was the Batard. Very deep. Still a very good effort considering the poor vintage. The balance is there , however the definition / focus that I love with Chevalier is compromising by the ripe lush fruits.
