Pappas Brothers Steakhouse - oysters and lobster after November Board meeting. Just me and Kelly. Tight at first but opened nicely. More golden than expected for the freshness upon opening up after an hour.

La Paulée de NY Verticals Tasting (Kimpton Hotel Eventi): 16/15/14 Magnum. Reduced nose not showing much. Palate has the most richness, density and structure of the three vintages. Lots of power here. Should be great if it unfurls and gains nuance. 92+

There's some candied peach on the nose along with white flowers and flinty mineral notes. It the mouth it is waxy and tight. There's some glycerol and the rigid spine of the vineyard. It finishes with a big squeeze of citrus.

La Paulée de New York - The Verticals (Eventi Hotel - New York NY): Tasting, brief note. Dense and powerful with very good textures, just less enticing fruit than I expect from the vintage. Needs time?

Quick Impressions from the 2019 La Paulée Verticals Tasting (Eventi Hotel, New York): Magnum. Pale. Closed aromatically, but lovely, textural, elegant wine with fine acidity and discrete use of oak. Tart finish, needs time. The best of the 3 vintages and very, very good, but hardly top tier Meursault.
