  • This was a White Burgundy (Chardonnay) and sister winery of Domaine Serene (Oregon). This was tasted with a Lloyds Chardonnay (Rombauer winemaker). The story here is not just old world vs new world, but two very different types of Chardonnay. The Lloyd's was big, bold, buttery and oaky...this wine was much more crisp, showed more terroir and minerality than the Lloyd's. This wine was dominated by apple, grapefruit and a hint of lemon, with a touch of oak and pear. The wine is still very young, and the fruit and acid beg for a longer time in the bottle. It tastes young and fresh now, but I believe it come together even better in a few years. I would wait a year a two before opening, then re-evaluate when to open subsequent bottle. However, you will not be disappointed opening one now. As I said, it is a sharp contrast to the big, bold buttery, oaky Chardonnays in America.....your favorite will depend on your palate. For me, I prefer the Lloyds, but like certain music, I also appreciated this wine.

  • Lovely Brunch (Ray and Teresa's): This was thrown in at the end of a brunch tasting. It has a combination of richness and incredible acid. There is butte in the background. I like this wine a lot and would like to see how it ages. 92+
