Good time to drink with some air. Powerful after 90 minutes but slowly mellowing. Either stage has its own taste appeal- all good. Enjoyed it tonight with Pork and Fava beans and roasted tomatoes.

My final bottle. Great and perfectly ready to go. Enjoyed with a fantastic homemade pasta sauce from my friend Judy Doyle served over Sfoglini zucca pasta. Unbelievable combination!
(9/5/2020) Still tight and somewhat tannic. On the dry side, which made it an excellent accompaniment to our filets mignons last night. Was able to pour it for friends who I don't think had ever had an Amarone before. They loved it! 15% alcohol.
Original tasting (8/25/2017) — Deep, opaque plum-skin color. Nose and taste of all the wonderful aspects of Amarone: Plum, refined vanilla from Slavonian oak puncheons, dried grapes, natural acidity, just a hint of VA (as should be expected) and a dusting of tannins in the finish. This is a noseful and a mouthful with a lip-smacking taste due to a touch of residual sugar. A crowd-pleaser now, it will continue to develop for years to come.

big and bold amarone which seduces with its complex scent and taste of over-ripe red fruit and a little sweetness without overwhelming its strong backbone with some dark liquid chocolate. Best paired with an arrosto in a crowded Christmas lunch with 12 people around the table
