Two friends sharing two bottles of wine (The Capital Grille at Tysons corner, VA): Expressive nose displaying generous sweet dark red fruit with a hint of black, pomegranate, raspberry, blackberry, grilled fat, cep, dark flowers, black truffle, a hint of Vosne spice, dark spices and earth. Excellent concentration, nicely layered opulent dark red fruit, very generous, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, and a long rich dark red fruit driven finish. There is a hint of bitterness at the end. This is a classic M. Louis Michel wine, i.e. beautifully made showing generous fruit.

Bottle 1124/2082 - whiff of reduction and signature fire cracker for this wine, mineral alike sucking on a cherry stone, cool and measured, long long finish. Maybe about to shut down, think it’s now or in 5-10 years then. Great stuff!!!

My first time with this vintage of Reignots, in general of course CLB knocked the ball out of the park in 14 and this is another testimony to cement this. Hedonistic as his wines are, there is this characteristic element of umami and firecracker that I get with his Reignots (you can just picture how deep the roots have to go in the cracks of the harsh soil). I love this terroir, I love CLB and I love 14. Terrific wine! Only just over 2k bottles made sadly.

Slight reserved nose. Deep red and blue fruit. Polished. Great balance and creamy texture. Not as exuberant as the 2013 but more detail.

Gently expressive nose but already so refined and elegant for such a young bottle with great structure and Long finish.
