  • This may well be the most "serious" $9.99 wine I've ever had. As already mentioned below, it is packaged in a heavy bottle, and it comes across as a wine that was intended for greater things but was ultimately remarketed. It is not the typical nice-but-uninspriring TJ's stuff we usually see on the shelves for this price. It has good varietal identity, good mouth feel, a good finish and all at a good price. Highly recommended.

Note: This is marked as Lot 100. There is another wine on CT with that description but fewer reviews, so I added this here. Lot 100 is the one you want.

  • I have reviewed this wine before. I like it and it is very good value for $9.99 at Trader Joe's and it is not a great wine, but it is a good wine. I opened this bottle and consumed this over 3 days. While the nose was gone by the 3rd day, the taste was still good but not powerful, just a pleasant California Syrah.

  • I don't usually buy wine at Trader Joes, but a friend put me on to this wine. This wine is exceptional for $9.99. It has great fruit and it's well balanced, with lots of flavors. I have Syrahs in my cellar that I paid 5 or 6 times as much for and they are no better. It's in an expensive bottle, which makes me believe that it was not originally destined for Trader Joes.

  • Labeled as Lot# 100. Deep red color, with limited black fruit nose. Taste is also limited - not as rich as I was expecting and claimed in Trader Joe's newsletter and rather excessively on the bottle itself. But the taste is smooth with some tannin and it is good value for the $10 price.
