Very perfumed. Primary fruit, impossible to distinguish. Touch of barrel and light woodyness on the nose. Feels a bit forced and over extracted with that worrying dryness and to my mind a lack of balance to be great in the fullness of time. I am sorry to sound a bit down beat but at $700/bt a beverage has to be outstanding to justify the price being charged. Anyone for 2 bottles of Lynch Bages 1989 for the same price? Cheval Blanc 1982? The list of great wines for drinking now at this price would be a lengthy one... at the end of the day, wine is a beverage for drinking and enjoying.

The first vintage of Clos Vougeot for Louis-Michel and an absolute beauty. Fruit is intense, dark and dense. There’s a wisp of smoke and plenty of mineral. It is extremely deep and the finish is full of cherry and cherry stone.

Tasty wine which similar to 2016 and 2018 Vougeot has glossy, plasticky sheen that I find quite appealing.

Strong reduction, evolves into five spice, clean aromatics. Palate a bit disjointed. Trails Echezeaux.

Liger-Belair Dinner (Hong Kong): Reductive. Weighty but inexpressive. Cool dark blue fruit. Palate is massive at this point.
