Birba with Uma (Birba, SF): An orange-ish wine. Deep gold with reflections of Amber. Aromatic oxidative savory apple butter nose. Excellent oxidative aging. Hints of wildness - slight VA and balsamic. Dried Apricot. Really compelling nose. Dried leaves. Perfumed VA. Dry, medium plus body, 14% alcohol, elevated acid, medium phenolic bitterness, faint tannins. Long finish with slight apricot, yellow apple, apple butter and toast - like aged semillon.

Oxidative notes, also pineapple, quince marmelade, orange rind; a bit hot (at 14.5% ABV); somewhat akin to a ripe, aged Semillon; would be great with lobster. 88+

big white, as foreshadowed by the deep color that suggested oxidation (but none was to be found).
