From 75cl. Opened a month ago, we hoped it might improve, but meh... The Oliveiras Terrantez 1988 vividily in memory; this is the lesser wine by a major step. Less vibrant, more musty and dusty and fusty. Fine, concentrated Madeira for old men, or old maids? 88-89P

Madeira in Madeira; 3/15/2017-3/20/2017: Tasted at D'Oliveiras, Funchal. Bottled in 2015. Pure dark, almost burnt caramel on the nose; medium-bodied entry with caramelised sugar, burnt almond, highly concentrated; monolithic sweetness. Very long, structured, almost mineral finish. 92P+

The Might of Madeira with Demetri Walters MW (Zoom!): Creamy nose, with toasted nuts. Dark caramel and apricot jam - like Sachertorte. Rich, gastronomic and persistent
