This is a screamer that starts out very hot. Ample alcohol at open and didn’t settle until 3 or 4 hrs in decant. Young, but without structure to cellar for long. Nose shows ample alcohol, followed by red and black cherry with a hint of oxidized red apple. On the palate, sweetness abound with a medium body and medium oak. After about 3 hrs it mellowed to show some deeper dark fruits and decent acidity, but really had only primary at this stage, and was very short in length.

still young...at time, such signs of greatness either with regard to structure or flavor profile...but all over the place and unbalanced...sometimes a little bit of leather, smoky old world...other times, a lot of blackberry fruit and vanilla....structure refined with some legs, polish--a little more on the medium bodied , elegant side...

A limited release from the Coombsville Appellation, this offering checked all the right boxes for what a Napa Valley cabernet can be. Opened and allowed to breathe without decanting. Rich, full-bodied, thick and pleasing, with flavors including Bing cherry, licorice, vanilla, mint and chocolate. No rough edges. Nicely balanced. With a moderately-long finish, this wine is a real winner.

Solid but young. This was from a magnum. Many years to go for prime time.
