Fine acidity with good flavors of red cherries fruits, and minerals. Smooth texture, great length and depth. Very drinkable and Burgundian in style. At this price point it just trump most burgundy village wines. This is just so delicious with roast chicken.

Popped and poured. Clear, deep ruby/purple. Nose: Dark cherry, earth, roses, violets, chalky minerality. Notes of grass and spice wafted in and out with air. Developing. Palate: High acidity, medium body, medium(+) flavour intensity of dark cherry, cranberry, earth, sweet spice and chalky minerality. Medium(+) grippy tannins, medium(+) clean finish. This has potential, but is still very tightly wound at this stage. Try again in 3 years, should be worth another point or two by then.

Pop and poured. At home. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, purple colour. Legs. Nose is clean, tight medium intensity, with aromas of smoke, dark meat, black cherries, sweet perfumed spice, slight black pepper. Developing. On the palate, dry, juicy high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), firm medium tannins, medium body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of black cherries, dark red cherries, cranberries, sweet spices, hints of earth and meat and black pepper. Medium+ finish. Very good quality. Stems adding structure are apparent. Flavour profile tight rather than lacking intensity. This wine is telling me to hold for another 3+ years' at least for the flavours to fully show forth. Serious bojo cru. Definitely upside potential for more points. Day under vacuum seal: Wow this has really opened up. Nose showing more expressively now, with earth and stony minerality, fragrant black cherries. Sweet juicy red and black cherries on the palate. Showing more heft but still elegant overall. Very long finish.

A structured and meaty Morgon. Nice wine, that would probably benefit from more time in bottle.
