  Disappointing. I found the tannins to be chunky clunky harsh, not the back label's aspirational description that read "sweet and mature tannins, being very round, complex and with a prolonged ending." Huh?! And what about the nose on this wine? Well according to the back label again, I should be looking for "...mature plum, berries and violets, integrated with traces of chocolate, coconut, vanilla, cinnamon and tobacco....". Again, huh?! No one could find any of this going on.
  
  I have in past reviews accused various Argentinian wine producers of falling prey to the traveling bottle salesman and buying big thick heavy glass bottles to put plonk in. In this case it was the backpacking English lit student who must have stopped in and traded prose for a free night's room and board.
  
  Rest of the wine was equally "meh". 87 is a GENEROUS rating for a wine of this caliber......
  
  We tasted this wine against a Norton Riserva (also disappointing) and a French produced Cahors/Malbec of even lessor quality (as it turned out). See my separate notes for those wines.

  Dank cellar nose
  Slightly over acidic - likely too young to drink yet
