This is a wine to try as my words will never be good enough. It has a lovely light golden colour, it has a waft of white flowers, maybe honeysuckle and spicey pear. The palate is slightly full and creamy, but has a balanced acidity of lemons, but then there is more softness and I want to say peanuts but in an amazing way. This is awesome. Ok it is expensive £35 @majesticwineharrogate but you have got to try it. 92 points

Edgy Cherrio aroma. Wow, explosive palate. Saw dust wind. Lots of character. Circus peanut palate without being blah-say.

A private dinner (Restaurant Andrew Fairlie **, Gleneagles Hotel, Auchterarder, Scotland): A blend of 50% Pinot Blanc, 40% Pinot Gris and 10% Aligoté. Quite rich and vinous, touch of vanilla, flavoursome and spicy, but not too buttery or heavy, has a nice “pointe d’acidité” for balance, noticeable bitters; slightly hot and resinous on the finish.

Six nations tasting (49 King Street Wharf): rich creamy and dense with muted citrus and stone fruit. Buttery. Hmm
