Unapologetically closer to a Northern Rhone than OZ Shiraz or Cali Syrah. Lovely purple robe, savory, gamey, black fruits, black beans and bacon, some creaminess in the mouth. Good, tangy acidity really lifts the whole. Moderate, integrated tannin. Still in its robust youth and can certainly age but approachable and enjoyable now. If I had another bottle, would wait until 2022.

Garnet, Nose: Bay leaf & Berry compote, chocolate raspberry rings. Med+ acid, velvety tannins, med+ Alc. Palatte: green pepper, beef stir fry: after it opens up - tart cherry, bitter berry, strawberry-rhubarb pie. Long finish of bitter chocolate & cherry. Start of the finish is blue raspberry candy near the back of the tounge.

Very nice. Good nose, heavy dark fruit. Went well with steak!
