  • Nose: Blackberry, leather, clove, blueberry and loamy earth. Palate: Seamless palate, dark berries, mineral, pencil and blue fruit notes. Refined leather, tobacco and sage. The detailed focus is impressive on the palate. Finish: Lengthy, vibrant red and blue fruit, loam and graphite.

I have not had a bottle of this in over 10-yrs, but managed to find it on a steakhouse winelist for a fair price. Performing outstandingly well today.

  • dark dark red, brick rim - effusive nose of blackberries, cassis, and mocha - somewhat more complexity than last year - full fat rich mouth up front, but less so the middle, as before - very nice acid-tannin-fruit balance - long 20-30 second finish, slight bitterness - very well developed California cab that is beginning to express more elegance than previously - most of the earlier tasting notes were focused on the wine's youthful exuberance, rather than its potential for development with age - I'll keep my last bottle another 3-5 years before I would decide on my final judgement

  • dark dark red, brick rim - effusive nose of blackberries, cassis, and mocha - full fat rich mouth up front, but definite hole in the middle - nice acid-tannin-fruit balance, slightly bitter - long 20 second finish - very well developed California cab that still expresses more power than elegance - should easily go another 5-10 years, but probably at its best now

  • Wow, what a nice surprise. Opened 3 hours prior to drinking and it kept getting better throughout the day and night.
