In the glass, a medium garnet , with fading rim, and firm legs. Initially the nose is somewhat closed, but it opens out with a bit of air. There are black raspberries and smoky blackberries, but beneath these dark aromas, there is eucalyptus or pine needle, sweet strawberries and cherries, and high toned sweet cranberries, and yes maybe a hint of a juicy raspberry Starburst, but also lingering earthiness. Silky smooth in the mouth , with flavours of dry smoky plums, and chocolate, and a refreshing cut of perfectly balanced acidity. " Roncevie " is a celebrated lieu-dit for Domaine Arlaud , and it's quality is obvious in this wine . A value wine from a distinguished producer. Drink up and enjoy over the next 3 years.

Pop and pour. Somehow more than 2 years since my last btl. On the nose: spice, crushed mulberry, black cherry. On the palate: good acidity and density, mulberry, black cherry, loads of spice. Loads of tangy red fruit, spice, and attenuated tannin on the finish. Yum.

An atypical nose for a burgundy on day one with cherries and even some herbs. On day 2 more earthy nose and strawberries. Very good length for a generic wine.

Nice wine. Floral, cumin, pine and fresh earthy notes float atop strawberry, raspberry, cranberry and starburst candies. Medium plus acidity and fine grained tannins for a satisfying structure.
