  • From the winery: From our lone block of Mariafeld comes this intriguing illustration of a unique and singular clone of Pinot Noir. Our 2014 offering boasts rich plummy fruit with hints of rose petals and strawberries. A plush feeling wine, it offers up plenty of jammy fruit as well as notes of cola, allspice and black tea. We enjoyed with baked salmon, rice and green beans and a fresh tomato and basil salad. Becky was here. Just before the Labor Day weekend.

  • We ate with a dinner of baked salmon with fresh broccoli and our own home grown tomatoes tossed with a light olive oil and pepper dressing.
By accident we chilled the wine but it was perfect with nice fruit, light bodied and very easy wine to drink. Not complex but perfect for this meal. Not dry with a smooth finish. As it warmed up, it had nice balanced flavors.
Per Cuvaison:" this is a Swiss selection, one of the Pinot clones grown at their winery. It is from a two acre parcel from their estate vineyard....one of their "block" series. "
Neither Barb or I have ever been big Pinot fans, but we really enjoyed this one..

  • Pretty jammy at the front and I thought would linger sweet. It did not, a nice earthy middle and some lingering on the tonque. Shared this with friends and bbe chicken drumsticks on the grill. Nice simple pairing
