The last and best of six bottles purchased back in 2016. Seems to have finally come together, but has reached full maturity. Aromatics and flavors reflect juicy raspberry, stewed cherry, cooked plum, sweet fig, dried chocolate, oak spice, and some dried red dirt. Structure in tact, but fruit is definitely mature. Nice complexity, decent balance, with medium intensity and length. Still enough fruit to pair well with the Jambalaya. Drink now and over the next 12 months.

Slight metallic character on the fruit which seemed to be getting tired. Middle had a nice mouthfeel and the finish showed a bit of tannin. My perspective is that none of my bottles lived up to the billing; its an acceptable wine that should have been drunk in the first 3 years.

Third & final bottle. Mixed results. Drank first bottle too soon (& probably rated too high). 2nd bottle was flawed (corked), third bottle, just OK.. Light color, spice & wood in aroma, tart entry, leading into blueberry & cherry flavors, with thin mid pallet. Decent length muted cherry flavors, medium tannis. No earth or fruit complexities.

With age the wine has developed some balance. Now I rate this a good Merlot but nothing of great note

Red plum, boysenberry, spice, earth. Soft tannins, medium acidity. Enjoyable.
