  F. X. Pichler is probably the best Gruner Veltliner producer in the world, they produce some of the most profound and intensely flavoured Gruner and Riesling in the world. This 2015 Durnsteiner Liebenberg was aged in 5000L large Austrian barrel on lees for 6months. Well layered tropical fruits, textured ripe orchard fruits and salinity on the finish. Focused and energetic with a powerful punch on the lip. Impressive wine and great value. 14% alcohol which shows on the palate. (88/100)

  White pepper and ripe fruit on the nose. Round, rich, broad, spicy with very good length on the palate. A big, powerful wine - right now a little fat with a certain lack of precision. Needs time. 89-90+(+)
