Second vintage of the Las Madres Syrah from Benevolent Neglect Wines. Deep and dark ruby red with a purplish hue. Love the attack of the nose. Coated with iron and gamey notes. Nose started to mellow out with some more complex notes of limestone, and spiced or curried veggies. Definitely felt like a top tier Northern Rhone-style Syrah. Slight minerality and olives on the palate. Smooth and rounded with some savory elements. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus body. Some woody textures in the finish, long and lingers. Just keeps getting more complex as it breathes. Expect this to get even better with age but drinking deliciously right now. Drink till 2026.

Smooth and integrated. Quite a surprise for such a young wine. Very elegant ahead of a light bite in the finish. Nice yet not overpowering acidity in the finish.
Medium bodied with moderate tannin (6.5/10).
