Deep and dark purplish red. Layered berries on the nose with some dark spices, black cherries and a touch of minerality. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus bodied. Dark and lush palate with dark red berries, some sweet spices, dark gravel and a little dried herbs. Long finish. Drink till 2026.

Second wine on our first night on the Harmony of the Seas. Deep and dark purplish red. A bit off on the nose, almost corked but will give it a benefit of the doubt and ignore the nose. With some time it got some cinnamon and dark berries. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus bodied. Dark palate with some dark black and red berries, sweet spices, gravel and a little dried herbs. Long finish. Drink till 2026.

Just got back from our cruise but want to keep California Wine Month going strong. Decided to crack open our favorite bottling (ATM) from Aonair.
Dark ruby red. Layered nose with cinnamon, blackberries, black currants and dark gravel. Heavy tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Needed some air to fill up in the mid palate. Nice level of complexity with some solid minerality on the palate. A touch savory too and notes of blackberries, spices, dried herbs and a little bit of blue fruits. Long finish. Drink till 2028.

Need to revisit the other Aonair Cabernet Sauvignons, but absolutely love this (we think it is Merlot based) Bordeaux blend.
Deep and dark ruby red, coats the glass. Dark and layered nose with sweet spices, cinnamon, dark cocoa, black berries, and vanilla. Delicious oaky notes on the nose and palate. Maybe even a touch of coconut. Medium and well integrated tannins (6.5/10). Complex palate with dark berries, sweet spices and a touch of wood. Full bodied with a long finish. Excellent structure and mouthfeel. Drink till 2027.

Have loved this in the past but the fruit seems to be fading a bit on this vintage. I'd drink in the next year or so.
