I'm assuming this is the one that started it all for Stella Rosa, given the name. It's a red blend (albeit categorized by this app as a white blend) but what it really is, is a sweet, grape-forward red not unlike the non-alcoholic red "sparkling wines" produced by Welch's and Meier's. There is much debate among traditional wine drinkers whether this makes a wine like Stella Rosso L'Originale a "real" wine or not, or just an alcoholic cocktail aimed at those who don't appreciate tannins and depth of flavor. We found this to be an able pairing for spicy, tomato-based Italian dishes. The acidity is rather tame by Stella Rosa standards, certainly more tame than in the Stella Rosa Black product or most any of their whites. Regardless, this is still a sweet wine that, if you're going to pair it with food, it had better be one that can stand up to the pairing. The nose is sweet concord grape, and it drives the entire experience with a little strawberry, blackberry and black cherry mixed in, but not to the extent of Stella Black. If you're unfamiliar with Stella Rosa wines and want to see what their perspective is, try this.

A sweet wine-like offering with sufficient acid to hold the sweetness together. It, or a reduction thereof, might be an interesting additive to red berry syrup poured over a weekend day morning stack of pancakes. Total crowd pleaser.

Very nice, low-alcohol, sweet bubbly. Would probably be a crowd pleaser.
