This wine was very surprising to me. Not a traditional Cali Syrah with a very soft feel. Black fruit, currant, with hints of mint. Paired well with crisp chicken tacos! Ha

Beautifully aged, packed with soft black fruit, a touch short on the finish. Supple without being thin, sensual and not cerebral, a perfect accompaniment to The Essential Dean Martin. Drink over the next 2 or 3 yrs.

Started the bottle on Christmas and came back to it the following night. On first inspection, there’s lots of bramble fruit and a hint of barnyard funk on the nose the second day all were dramatically better and pronounced.
The wine is a deep dark purple obsidian. You could get lost just into it. There was some sediment on the neck and more at the end of the bottle, but the wine remained crystal clear and was never decanted.
I may have missed the window by a year or two on this one. As the wine delivers all that you would expect from Syrah but a long finish. Black and red berries bounce around your mouth and tongue preparing it for the bacon fat to follow, finished off by a quiet symphony of sage, cedar, and homemade blackberry jam.
So fire up Track #6 on Christmas with Dino from 1966 and open up another bottle if you have one!

Powerful dark fruit, though slightly closed and less interesting than Pride Merlot or cabs
