This is a producer that has evaded all problems with premox, and it is always a pleasure to open any bottle at any age. This is now nine years old, and the color is still bright straw with clear green hints. Quite evolved nose dominated by peach, green apples and lime, complemented with a salty sea touch. Medium bodied and round attack with more tropical fruit feel on the mid palate than what the nose promised. The fruit is more in the vein of dried citrus peel than fresh lemon, and the aftertaste is somewhat tropical verging on pineapple. Fine acidity, but lacks that steely, chalky touch and freshness of a younger wine. This has started its decline, but it is still a beauty to drink. I guess the fruit will become even more tropical with more bottle age, so if you like that, keep for some more years.

Day 2 - powerful nose with citrus, beeswax and some sealty “sea” notes. Medium plus body, oily texture. Long finish with fresh acidity. Still a youngster.

Aged wines from this producer has been a bit off and on. This one is clearly "on", almost a bit too much. It is almost greenish water coloured, showing no signs of five years age. On the nose it it "squeacky clean" with fruity aromas of green apples and a hint of vanilla . Chalky tones emerge after a while. Medium bodied attack, slightly sweet (vanilla) before the more appley aromas come forward. Medium length with a very chalky finish, almost on the drying side. A well made wine, but strangely un-exciting. Will keep for many more years, but I really do not know what will be the final result. The wine just hansn't got enough "stuffing" to age that much more. Drink up, enjoy, it is a very pleasant wine.
