  • Good example of a new world cabernet, plenty of fruit (restrained, not jammy), quite powerful, spicy, good now and for the next 3 years?

  • WSET Diploma Practice Tasting - Final Session (Fredericks, Islington): The wine is clear and medium ruby in colour.
The nose is clean with medium (+) intensity aromas of black fruit (cassis, black plum), herbaceous (blackcurrant leaf), oak (smoke), hint of tertiary (earth, leather). The wine is developing.
The palate is dry with medium (+) acidity, ripe medium (+) tannins, medium (+) alcohol, medium (+) body, medium (+) intensity flavours of cassis, herbs, smoke, earth. The finish is medium (+) length.
The wine is very good quality. The acid and tannins balance the fruit concentration and the finish is reasonable long and persistent. However if lacks complexity.
Can be drunk now but is suitable for ageing over the next few years (3-5). It has the fruit concentration and structure to develop further tertiary characteristics although it is likely to start to fade after this time.
