13th Cellier Wine Fair (Hilton Athenaum Hotel): Served from magnum The wine is rich in the nose, full ripe citrus and rather salty. The palate is again rich, ripe citrus fruit, salty, med to high acidity, roasted nuts, developed, still going though, med to long nutty flavored finish

Cellier Wine Fair 2017 (Hilton Athenaum Hotel): Mineral, citrus, lime, petrol notes, the palate is oaky, ripe, citrus, alcohol burn (14%), long finish. Again, its just feels too simple despite the density.

Good , but disappointing. A softness in the middle and obvious barrel notes made this a lesser form of the fancy Assyrtiko. Lemon and some mineral. Good attack, but then flabbed a bit. Enjoyable and still close to a good wine.

Somewhere between Burgundy and Rioja lies the island of Santorini - well, maybe not geographically, but stylistically with this lovely wine. Lively fruity flavours with hints of peach and apricot, along with rich oaky notes (French?). Perhaps a little over ripe flavours for some tastes, but rich rather than sweet.

A dry white wine made from vines 80-100 years old. Aged 12 months in medium toast oak barriques of 2nd and 3rd use and at least 12 months in the bottles before the release. RS: 4 g/l, a: 6,1 g/l, alc: 14,5%.
Medium deep lemon yellow color. A restrained, elegant nose with aromas of cream, ripe lemony citrus, some vanilla, a little sweet oak spice, a hint of butter and a whiff of smoky minerality. Full-bodied mouthfeel; surprisingly calm and smooth palate despite the structured, high acidity. Flavors of ripe citrus fruits, cream, powerful stony minerality, some bitter wood, a little sweet oak spice and a hint of vanilla. Long and moderately mouthwatering finis with flavors of bitter wood, cream, ripe and sweet citrus fruits, some stony minerality, a hint of vanilla and a touch of salinity.
Surprisingly elegant and Burgundian take on the Assyrtiko; I expected a lot clumsier and oakier style of wine, but this wine actually showed surprisingly nice balance and sophistication. A bit too oaky still IMO, but good stuff nevertheless. Will probably age nicely in the cellar for several years. Worth its price at 24€.
